Living with black bears in Vermont

— Chester residents have seen a lot of black bears lately—in backyards, in dumpsters, along roadways, and even in local cemeteries. A special program will discuss the local bear population, Sept. 22, at 2 p.m., at the Chester Congregational Church. The program is hosted by the Chester Conservation Committee

‘‘Living with Vermont’s Black Bears’’ will examine Chester's bears and the expanding ursine population statewide.

The event is free to the public.
