Benson — On Saturday, Oct. 6, at 8:51 p.m., the Vermont State Police Rutland Dispatch Center received a report of an incident, on Old Lake Road, involving a hay wagon that required medical attention.
Members of the Benson Fire Department, Fair Haven Rescue, Fair Haven Police Department, Castleton Police Department, Vermont Fish and Wildlife and the Vermont State Police responded.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an individual was struck by a hay wagon at the Annual Haunted Hayride in Benson.
It was determined that one of the role players was run over by the hay wagon on Old Lake Road.
The victim was flown by helicopter to the Albany Medical Center in Albany, N.Y. The victim's condition was unknown at the time of this release. It is believed the victim is a male but not confirmed at this time.
