Driver flees scene of Route 4 accident

— On Oct. 1, at approximately 8:32 p.m., troopers from the Vermont State Police barracks in Rutland were dispatched to a two car motor crash on U.S. Route 4 in Mendon. While en route, troopers learned that one of the vehicles involved in the accident, fled the scene. The vehicle was described as a light blue sedan with Vermont license plates. The first three letters of the registration were "FDP".

Upon arrival, troopers found the vehicle driven by Katherine Brownlove, 33, sustained minor damage to the rear driver's side bumper, and the rear driver's side tire wheel well. There was no structural damage to the vehicle.

Based on the damage to Brownlove's vehicle, troopers believed the other vehicle was aware a crash had taken place and left without providing any information (which is a crime in Vermont). It is believed the blue sedan suffered damage to the front end.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vermont State Police in Rutland at 773-9101.
