Rutland — Foreign-owned Gaz Métro has finalized its acquisition of Central Vermont Public Service Corp. The utility is now under the name of Green Mountain Power.
CVPS's operations are being merged with the Canadian-owned Green Mountain Power Corporation.
CVPS' office in Rutland will remain open.
Company officials said they were not planning any staff layoffs.
