State's best high-school players in the diamond

— Rosters for the 2012 Vermont Baseball Coaches Association North-South Senior All-Star game have been announced June 28 by the coaching staffs of each squad.

The annual doubleheader will be held this Saturday, June 30, at Saint Peter's Field in Rutland.

Game one first pitch is slated for 11 a.m. and admission to the twinbill is free.

Coaching the North All-Stars will be Tim Albertson of CVU and Chris Richard of Essex. The North roster is Phil Comeau, Frank Grady of Burlington; Brendan Davitt of CVU; Matthew Atwood, Danville; Dave DeFreest and Joe Selvis, Harwood; Casey Covey, Marshall Hastings and Connor Kelley, Middlebury; Jay Flanagan, Montpelier; Tommy Nelson, Ian Shaw, Mount Abraham; Nate Stewart, North Country; Zach Daley and Billy Whaley, Northfield; Ryan Davis, Peoples Academy; and Matt Bouvier, South Burlington.

Leading the South All-Stars are Kevin Bellomo of Rutland, Al Plante of Mount Anthony and Bellows Falls' Dick Forbush and Bob Lockerby. Members of the South are: Jeremy Kilburn, Cooper Long and Matt Marchia, Bellows Falls; Tim Rumrill, Black River; Tommy Heydinger, Jamie Martell and Soren Pelz-Walsh, Brattleboro; Riley Kevil and Jake Oliver, Burr & Burton; Dan Brown and Derick Hernandez, Fair Haven; Jacob Walker, Green Mountain; Josh Maniery, Mill River; Tyler Kunzmann, Russell Krebs and Nick Solari of Mount Anthony; Sam Major, Rutland; Kirk Pelham, Springfield; and Jon Dedell, Woodstock.
