Chester The Chester-Andover Family Center Board and volunteers wish to thank students, organizations, businesses, and individuals who donated time, money, gifts, and food for the holiday food bags and gifts for the Food Shelf recipients.
The number of recipients increased even more this year and the center was able to meet those needs due to the generosity of both communities.
The center is also extremely appreciative of the outpouring of donations in the form of money, food, clothing, household items, and time to help those members of our communities who suffered loss and damage from Tropical Storm Irene...
As the need for Food Shelf assistance continues to increase, money and food donations are even more critical to meet those needs.
With the state of the economy and loss due to the storm, residents of Chester and Andover who are experiencing financial difficulty are encouraged to apply, with complete confidentiality, for Food Shelf and/or emergency assistance from the center. Just stop by or call the center during regular hours for an application.
The center’s hours are: Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, 1 to 7 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Our Thrift Shop has become the place to shop for clothing, shoes, and accessories for the entire family as well as housewares, toys, gift items, jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, and craft supplies. Stop by when in the area as the merchandise changes on a daily basis at 656 Depot St. in Chester
