West Rutland Vermont State Police were dispatched to a armed robbery at Rite Aid Pharmacy, located at 296 Main St., in West Rutland, Feb. 11.
Upon investigation, it was learned that a lone white male suspect presented a note to the pharmacist demanding prescription drugs. The suspect indicated that he had a weapon, but none was seen during the incident. The pharmacy turned over an unspecified amount of prescription medication and the suspect fled.
State police personnel are canvassing the area. The suspect is described as a white male, age 30–40 years old, with fair skin, thin beard growth, and last seen wearing a tan parka and dark green sweatshirt with the hood up.
Detectives are reviewing surveillance tapes and additional information obtained through the investigation. When further information is available an update will be released.
