James Andrews, coordinator of the Vermont Reptile and Amphibian Atlas Project, will be the featured speaker at this free event, the second installment of this summer’s “Know Your Wild Neighbors” series sponsored by the Ninevah Foundation. He’ll explain how to identify and protect the small reptiles and amphibians of our area, including the intriguing Eastern Newt salamander (the day glow orange “red eft” when young). Audience members will also learn how to join the hunt for animals such as the American Toad, American Bullfrog and Gray Treefrog, which are almost certainly still here but have not been documented from some towns in over 25 years.
